Get answers to common questions about Permanent Color Touchup.
Most clients return every 4–6 weeks, depending on natural hair growth, the contrast between roots and color, and hair type. Your stylist will recommend a personalized touchup schedule based on maintenance goals and how quickly your roots become noticeable.
When performed by our trained stylists using professional products, touchups cause minimal damage. We use targeted root application and protective treatments, and recommend regular deep conditioning and trims to maintain hair health between color appointments.
Touchups primarily address root regrowth and may not fully recreate blended multi-dimensional highlights or balayage. For seamless continuity, stylists may perform additional techniques like color melts or toner applications to blend new growth into existing multidimensional color.
Most touchup appointments take 30–90 minutes, including a brief consultation. Timing varies with root size, color complexity, and whether additional blending, toning, or treatments are required. Your stylist will provide an accurate estimate during booking.
Unless instructed otherwise, arrive with dry, unstyled hair washed 24–48 hours prior. Natural oils protect the scalp and improve color adherence. If you use heavy styling products, clarify beforehand or let your stylist know so they can adjust preparation.
Use sulfate-free, color-safe shampoos and lukewarm water to preserve vibrancy. Apply a leave-in conditioner or UV protectant, limit heat styling, and schedule regular deep-conditioning treatments. Book touchups as recommended to prevent visible regrowth and maintain even color.
